Some 85 people, including mainly counter agents but also 17 doctors, 3 medical students and 2 pharmacist assistants from Kolda, Sédhiou, Tanaff, Saréyoba, Adéane, Cap Skiring, Oussouye, Thionck Essyl, Bignona, Elinkine and Bounkiling participated on June 18 at the Kadiandoumague Hotel in Ziguinchor in a PGT whose main theme was: Benefits of probiotics against stress.
This PGT was well attended despite the political context of the moment. The day before, pre-election demonstrations of the Senegalese opposition and its supporters had taken place. From 3 pm until late at night, young people had burned tires in the various streets of the city and some feared that there would be outbursts until the next day, the day of the PGT, which fortunately did not happen.
As Dr. Ngorn, one of the participants, pointed out, probiotics and their benefits are hardly discussed in university education in Senegal, so this PGT generated a lot of curiosity and interest.
“We worked closely with a doctor on the topic of stress and he prepared a presentation on its mechanism, symptoms and consequences on the body. We then focused on the negative consequences of stress on the digestive system and on the benefits of probiotics, especially KEM Probiotics from PPM Laboratories, to remedy the situation,” reported Bacary Diatta and Justin Biaye, organizers of the PGT.
